| Everyone says to make sure you turn the rotors on the car, but brake check charges $25/rotor and a new rotor is more or less $88/rotor. I can get them machined off the car for $8/rotor. I'm just trying to find out what the justification is for *requiring* an "on-car" rotor lathe versus off-car. I've heard people say to never do them off the car but I wanted some good justification. There are so many cars that have rotors and having them machined off the car is completely acceptable.
